The work was done during the months of March - June 2020 for an exhibition called "The Women of the Jezreel Valley Create Reality", curated by Deborah Morag and Anat Mandil. In choosing the subject of the work, I found the story of the life of Hannah Tessler, the aunt of my partner Arie, most worthy of being 'honored' in her own work. Hannah left an ultra-Orthodox family in Safed, studied at the Alliance, married and had two children, and after separating from her husband, she joined the Nahalal Veterans Group and nurtured her own small farm unit. She studied sewing to support her children as a single mother, and thanks to her specialization in this field - in addition to her colorful personality - she accepted the role of "mother" in the first agricultural school for girls in Israel, then established in Nahalal by Ms. Hannah Meissler Shochat. Hannah worked as a housewife for about a decade and allowed the girls who studied there to dress respectfully at the end of a working day in agriculture, as they were accustomed to in their countries of origin in the various European capitals. Hannah serves as a model for me for a strong woman who chose her own path and did so with professionalism and respect.
